2016 Teen Trip Dates Announced! July 6-13th 2016 Guatemala

Category : Back to FFK Home, Latest News, Register, Teen Trip

Click here for  2016 Mission Trip Application Form

February, 2016

Dear Teens and Parents,

NPH USA and Father Frank’s Kids are in the process of organizing its 10th annual summer mission trip for teens to Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos Guatemala. This trip allows these teens to respond to their call as disciples of Jesus Christ. Through baptism, we are all called into ministry, especially having a preferential option for the poor, homeless, sick, orphaned, widowed and imprisoned. This trip will enable our teens to enter into another culture and language, and more specifically, the lives of orphaned and abandoned children.

Teens will also have a greater understanding of poverty and cultural differences. It will especially help them distinguish between “needs” and “wants.” It is difficult in our country to make that distinction. The teens normally walk away with a greater appreciation for what they have and can see the difference they can make in the life of someone less fortunate.

Lastly, this trip provides an opportunity to live and work with the orphans and experience firsthand how Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos has changed their lives. From past experience, this trip has also changed the lives of the participants. This trip provides an opportunity for teens to witness the impact that their generosity makes in the life of others less fortunate. It models the importance of caring and sharing with one another, which is the epitome of stewardship

Father Frank’s Kids is taking up to 50 teens on this trip, and chaperones, which will take place this summer, Monday July 6th through Monday July 13th. Mrs. Donna Clancy will be coordinating the Father Frank’s Kids process.

The cost of this trip will be approximately $1,500.00, which includes airfare, ground transportation, room and board at the orphanage and admissions to all excursions. The attached form, along with a $900.00 non-refundable deposit needs to be returned by Tuesday, April 5, 2016.

The attached registration form and deposit needs to be sent to:

It is mandatory that your teen have a valid U.S. passport to travel to Guatemala. Effective January 23, 2007, all persons, including U.S. citizens, traveling by air between the United States and Canada, Mexico, Central and South America, the Caribbean, and Bermuda will be required to present a valid passport, not expiring before January 13, 2017. Please begin this process immediately if your teen does not have a passport.

Your teen’s passport, along with your teen’s final balance will be due the beginning of June. It is also recommended but not required to have a Hepatitis A inoculation. Please consult your physician for their advice.

If you’d like more information regarding our organization and/or our orphanages, please visit NPH USA at www.nphusa.org or www.fatherfrankskids.org or contact Donna Clancy at 925.785.1877 or clanusa@pacbell.net.

2015 Fiesta Results-Thank You for Your Support!!

Category : Back to FFK Home, Fiesta, Latest News, Register, Teen Trip

Thank You for Making Fr. Frank’s Kids Fiesta & Auction a Huge Success!

We want to thank everyone who supported Father Frank’s Kids Fiesta and Auction in October. The event was a huge success thanks to the generosity of our parishioners.  The Fiesta and Auction raised $68,000! All of these funds will be used to assist the orphaned and abandoned children of the NPH orphanages.

We have committed much of the money raised for projects and needs of the various homes. These include:

  • $12,000.00 to provide 104 children with clothing and shoes for a year in the NPH home in Nicaragua.
  • $12,000.00 for the salary of a vocational teacher in the Guatemala home.
  • $12,000.00 to pay for the cost to house, nourish and educate 123 children in the NPH home in Honduras.
  • $12,000.00 to partially offset $52,000.00 of budget cuts due to fundraising shortfalls for the El Salvador home. The funds will pay for clothing, medical care and food.
  • $12,000 for three months of food for the children admitted to St. Damien Pediatric Hospital at the NPH home in Haiti.

Remaining funds will be used to pay for additional projects and for the cost of shipping containers of donated clothing and other goods to the homes.

Again, thank you for your generosity. You have made a difference in the lives of many children.

FFK’s 2015 Teen Trip to the Guatemala home will be July 6th -13th  2016. Contact Donna Clancy at clanusa@pacbell.net for more information.

On Saturday, October 12, 2013 St. Isidore Church will be hosting its 7th annual Father Frank’s Fiesta silent auction and dinner, to help raise funds to support Father Frank’s Kids.  We would like to request your support.

Father Frank’s Kids, Inc. is an organization dedicated to continuing the mission started by Father Frank Colacicco to help the orphaned and abandoned children of Central America. Today, Father Frank’s Kids provides support to the orphanages run by Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos (NPH) in Nicaragua, El Salvador, Honduras, Peru, Haiti, Dominican Republic, Bolivia, Guatemala, and Mexico.

Children of all ages are embraced by this loving family, Nuestros Pequeños Hermamos, which is Spanish for Our Little Brothers and Sister.  Some have been abandoned; others have lost one or both parents and have no one to care for them.  Many have physical and emotional scars that eventually heal as they begin to trust their new family.

These homes provide shelter, food, clothing, healthcare, and education in a Christian family environment.  The children at the orphanages that we support are happy, loved, well-fed, and well-educated.  They are given shelter from the harsh surroundings and the malaise of the streets. They are given structure to help them persist with the support of parents.  The orphanages house children from infancy through the high school age.

Each home strives to be self-sustained.  In Honduras, for example, the orphanage produces 1,500 fresh eggs and 300 liters of milk each day, meeting the needs of all who live there.  The homes each have living spaces, a kitchen, and a dining hall.  There are chapels for worship, clinics, and primary and secondary schools.  There are workshops where children can learn trades, such as carpentry and welding.
